Characteristics of the plant Solidago virgaurea 

The plant Solidago virgaurea (Goldenrod) is a native Bulgarian herb, thriving in forests and dry meadows. The plant is gathered in the summer, while it is flowering. The plant contains a specific natural components: flavonoids (quercetin, kaempferol and their glycosides, astragalin and rutin), saponins, phenolic compounds, essential oils, terpenes and anthocyanidins. 

Definition: Produced from the aerial part of the plant Solidago virgaurea.

Characteristics: Green brown to brown amorphous powder with specific odour.

Content of specific natural components:
Flavonoids, determined as rutin, based on dry substance, %, not less than 7.5

Control: The qualitative indices of the product are controlled in accordance with the company documentation, in which the assay methods and their validity concerning linearity and repetition are included.

Storage: Store in dry and cool places, away from direct sunlight.

Shelf life: 3 (three) years from the date of production.

Application: It is used alone or in combination with other plant extracts in production of food or feed additives.
